12th December - Is THIS the BEST Pizza? 🤔

I've tried just about every pizza around, over the years. As you can probably tell from my ample abdominal girth. Pizza Hut, Papa Johns, Dominos, not to mention all the 'cool' artisans places which have popped up in recent years to try replicating the Italian thin & crispy varieties. Franco Manca etc. I've even tried pizzas in the homeland, Rome, Milan, Florence, Venice, Sorrento, and so on... But I just can't get enough of that greasy deep-pan pizza you can grab from a local takeaway. You know the sort, they come in a weird box, usually with a Gondola printed on it, and on the side of the box, it usually says 'Have a Nice Day'.

They might give you a little pot of garlic dip with it, about the same size of the original Dominos ones, before they introduced those 'big pots', and it will have a little pink coloured lid on and only taste about 10% as good as the Dominos one. You've got to be careful though, your local pizza takeaway can often differ in terms of quality, and even customer service. The one near me is titled 'Samis BBQ Takeaway' and probably the best 'local' pizza takeaway I've ever had the pleasure of purchasing from. Friendly, fast, and genuinely even tastier than the 'biggest' chains around the United Kingdom.

However, that isn't the case for all local pizza takeaways. Take a peek at some of the reviews of 'Manor Pizza' in Ruislip, one of the worst pizzerias in the country, where one customer even labelled the food as "disgusting and smelly". If there is anything we can learn from such reviews, it is that choosing your own local pizzeria can be a massive gamble, which is why so many still stick to using reliable chains instead. With that in mind....

... Choose your pizzeria wisely!
