10th December - The Lion King!
Today marked my second time at the Lyceum Theatre, and my 6th time seeing a West-End show in general. I used to think it was for virgins, to be honest. I never understood the fuss. But whatever you're viewing, if it is an art form, then it is usually great. If it is LIVE, as well, then even better. There's a certain magic attached to live arts and performances, whether sports or theatre, or anything else. Certainly, when it comes to the magic of 'The Lion King', very few other performances can beat the wonder and imagination of this incredibly crafted show.
From the explosive opening melodies of 'Circle of Life', where gigantic elephants walk down the walkways between seated audiences members and up onto the stage, or the percussion, drums, and characters, which emerge from viewing galleries in the upper echelons of the balconies, they've clearly tried to maximise every inch of this wonderful old venue to make the experience as lively and engaging as possible for viewers. If you're ever in London with a spare ton in your pocket, then get on down and witness the magic of The Lion King, live. Be warned though, seats sell fast...
... So you may need to book a fair few months in advance!
