14th October - Vaccine 4.0
AstraZeneca... AstraZeneca... Moderna... Pfizer. That would be my 'career stats' on Wikipedia as far as the COVID vaccines go... The fourth of which arrived roughly an hour ago via a special delivery to the bicep. I'll happily go on record here as saying, I don't quite understand the whole 'anti-vacc' movement. Fair enough if that is what you believe. everyone is entitled to their opinion. But you can only assume that these people also hold the opinion that the moon is made of cheese, and that the Earth is flat. 'There's no scientific proof that it is safe', they bark, completely refuting the many thousands of tests which are carried out daily in laboratories across the globe.
'I don't see the point in having it,' retorted the Vodafone employee responsible for processing my upgrade over the phone this morning... 'I've got a resilient immune system'. I'm sure you have, Carol, darlin', but such theory is the same as saying "Nah don't reckon I'll ever get Cancer... 'Cuz I've not had a cold in months. And even if I do, I won't need any of that chemotherapy rubbish, my immune system will just fight it off naturally". Modern medicine is perhaps the greatest invention of our entire society. People can now live without hearts, or with large chunks of their brain missing completely... You can only imagine those who think it is somehow 'cool' to hate on such wonderful scientific feats are the exact crowd with the missing chunks of brain.
So far, no side effects for me with this one, and having come down with COVID twice now since the Pandemic, I can safely say that the second time (three vaccines in my system at the time of contraction) was a whole lot more pleasant than the first, when I was unvaccinated and inadvertently 'went in bareback' on the virus, so to speak. For all those Mrs DoubtPfizers out there, I won't declare you 'insane' like most of society does. I respect your opinion. But also, I'm also not interested in hearing...
... Why you don't respect mine.
