6th June: Ghana DAY ONE - A chorus of Frogs

The past week has created such an overwhelming surge of memories and thoughts, that it is near-on impossible to break everything down day-by-day. Regardless, I'll give it a go!

DAY ONE: We arrived in Accra last Sunday evening and were met at the airport by Dr William Wood, and his Wife, Bishop Mercy Wood, who head up 'Wood World Missions', the charity we were working for. Our welcome couldn't have been warmer and Minister Kwame, who was celebrating his 30th birthday the next day, was also on hand to take our bags, with all members of the gang dressed in their typical African robes, fresh from their Sunday church service by the time we arrived at close to 10pm local time. From here, we were driven to their nearby home and slept for the evening. The infrastructure of African accommodation was a fascinating change in culture from the Westernised offerings we see here in the U.K, with rocky roads filled with stones, rocks, and huge un-filled dips plaguing the local roads - even in the Bishop's giant off-roader vehicle - and we drifted into slumberland via the noise(s) of what sounded like several hundred local frogs gathered outside our room, 'ribbeting' us into submission.
