24th April - Oh what a night!

Today is the definition of 'chill', I think we got home from Wembley at about 3am, and my initial reaction to the crowd and atmosphere inside the Stadium (and even along Wembley Way) was a real noticeable amount of effort, in terms of appearance. In fact, I'd argue that the majority of attendees were dressed in the kind of clobber you'd expect to see at a Wedding, or at the very least, a day at the races. I'm talking suits, waistcoats, ties, brogues, dresses, and big hats. Dapper, indeed.

Of course, what transpired inside the ring was equally impressive, and Tyson's ring walk was a real thing of beauty. Despite his protestations, though, I don't think retiring now is the final nail in the coffin that his legacy deserves. The last heavyweight to hold the 'undisputed' tag in this country was Lennox Lewis, and until Fury can replicate that achievement, people will always compare the two boxers. In terms of what the British public would prefer to see, AJ is the bigger attraction than Usyk everyday of the week, though the gigantic Ukrainian shaped problem the sport has, is that the latter is by far the better boxer.

Either way, I'd back the Gypsy King to demolish both men inside of 9 rounds, but I do believe it's vital that he touches gloves with at least one of them, just so that people have no excuse to throw the 'dodger' insult around. I'm actually writing this at the end of the day, and my early evening consisted of a Sunday roast down the local pub, though it was a 2/10 in terms of taste, with 98% of the beef nothing more than microwaved gristle. Still, on a day like this, I can't complain. I'm 24 hours fresh from perhaps the final ever fight of the sport's greatest athlete of the modern era, Tottenham dropped points this weekend, the Arsenal smashed Man United, and there's a LEGO Skywalker Saga disc currently sat in my PS4...

... Life is good.
