2nd Feb - Back To The Grind

Today is all about grinding, and I don't see nothing wrong with a little bit of that, in all honesty. After the late night of Sunday's escapades, you soon to learn that in your 30s, the recovery of anything even slightly outside of your usual schedule can throw you off for a minimum of 24-48 hours. The first day is spent just ploughing through, surviving, trying to keep your head above water. The second is the day of full recovery, a chance to replenish all which your body was devoid of in the day or two previous. By 'Day 3' (impossible to not say in the Big Brother narrator's voice), you're back at it, and ready to hustle.

I've lured you in under false pretences, you see. You saw the pic attached to this blog and thought it might be something to do with rumpy-pumpy didn't ya, you little scoundrels? Unfortunately, we'll be discussing the 'grind' in the sense of the daily hustle today, rather than the wet cuddle. My own alarm was set for 7.30am, not for the sake of being a 'LinkedIn Wanker', but just so I could fit in everything I need to accomplish today, within a reasonable time frame. I'll admit, I didn't quite obey by that particular rule, and woke an hour later. Not through laziness, but through choice, via wisdom. I've found that you can raise yourself super early, but you'll then lack the necessary energy needed to smash your 'to do list' throughout the course of the day. By awakening alongside your body's own natural needs, you may end up working later into the evening, but safe in the knowledge that you'll have the resources to do so.

Scheduling is certainly important in regards to staying organised, and I always aim to partake in at least one hour of continuous walking per day, and though I love to do this during dusky evenings in Summer, alongside the sunset, timings are more limited throughout Winter as it can often prove pitch-black outside by 4pm. I've found that midday is the best time for this throughout the colder months, as this is when we often tend to witness a brief flash of sunlight after the initial bitter chill of the morn has passed. My route today will also see me stop by at the pharmacist after my Doctor prescribed me a cream to deal with a long-term skin condition which I've never fully understood, or found a suitable remedy to. I'm hopeful this is the start of a positive path in this area. Whatever you're doing today, and whatever your day consists of...

... I hope you're at maximum effectiveness in getting back to the grind.
