28th September - Grateful for Today
Truly, I am so grateful to be alive today. I spent much of last night chatting in bed with my partner about how I feel that we, as a society, are unfortunately pre-programmed to take life for granted, using the example of a former friend's brother, who passed away just a few months after I'd seen him at a BBQ. He was a similar age at death to the age I am now, and it is important that we remember - though terrifying - that life can end at any moment. There are some of you reading this who may not be alive next month, next week, or even tomorrow. I don't wish to trouble you, or bring negativity to you... Far from it. I want you to be grateful for everything you experience.
This morning, I left my home at 5.30am to begin my commute, and whilst I may usually bemoan the lack of sleep, the cold temperature, and the pitch-black mornings, today was different. With our conversation from last night still fresh in mind, I looked up at the stars in the sky, shining brightly and dazzling with such beauty. I sniffed in a huge breath of fresh air, and put one of my favourite songs on my headphones. As hippy as it sounds, you really have to be grateful for everything around you. I myself, had just left home, where I'd spent the past X amount of hours with an absolute Goddess of a partner who loves and respects me. I have food in my belly today, and water in my flask. I'm off to my job, which I enjoy, to earn money, to experience new destinations and moments in this World. What is there not to love? I urge you all to adopt the same mindset, because I myself, am most certainly...
