16th September - Things you'll NEVER see me doing




- Voting for the Conservative party

- Spelling words incorrectly

- Worshipping the Royal Family

- Agreeing with parental violence towards children

- Watching a cricket match

- Stepping foot in any non-dance music nightclub

- Voting for Brexit

- Listening to heavy metal music

- Popping anything up my bottom

- Going to O Beach in Ibiza (okay, I admit, I went ONCE, but that was only to snaffle the hospitality tab they gave me in return for a journalistic review. I inhaled all the free steak, glugged down as many cocktails as the package would allow, and then left after 30 mins).

26th December - My 2023 Goals

I was driving my partner and her friend home from a bottomless brunch a few days ago, and her friend remarked to me that she often reads this site, and was unsure on how to fill the gap in 2023 when this diary will become defunct. After all, 2023 can't be ' The Year of the Gable' , too. That would defeat the purpose. With more free time in my hands next year on account of the spare 200-odd hours (or 30 full working days) it has taken to construct these blog posts over the course of the past year (I did the maths), I will look to find alternative ways to spend my time.  I've already contacted a local piano teacher, to begin my lessons with her in 2023 and learn the craft of my Grandfather. Something I didn't tap into nearly enough when he was alive. In fact, I don't even know what happened to the giant piano he kept in his living room, or where it went following his death. But I wish I'd learned to play more than just ' No Matter What ' by Boyzone...

31st December - The Final EVER 'Year of the Gable' post

And now, my time has come, and so I face... The final curtain. 365 days of entries here on this diary, and from tomorrow, the entire thing will be wiped and completely defunct. Firstly, for those who have read this blog over the course of the past year, I thank you. Whether you actively supported it for the first half of the year but then lost interest, like Jade. Whether you read the posts from a far, lurking but never interacting, like Tayler, or if you commented on just about post ever shared, like Vicky, I thank you. Maybe, you were a 'Paulina' and just followed the blog's Instagram page but never indicated any inkling of ever reading it. But this was something that I spent around 30-60 minutes per day on, which translates to roughly 30 full working days on this thing. No monetisation, no promo, no advertising, no 'follow for follow' or any attempts to make the blog 'go big'. Just a simple motivation tool. By forcing myself to open my laptop every mornin...

13th December - Here's what you EAT tells me about YOU

A few days ago, my partner & I ventured to ' Poor Boys' , the deep-south experience situated in the heart of Kingston-Upon-Thames. This Louisiana -inspired chicken joint has been receiving rave reviews across social media and beyond for their crispy southern-fried recipes, and range of brilliantly exotic sauces. As you walk in, the decor of the place echoes the brand's sentiment, with rustic items like typewriters frequenting the walls and shelves of the restaurant, and staff bringing your order to you in ' street food' style cardboard boxes, but accompanied by real metal knifes/forks etc. It is easy to see why this ' Bodeans' of the chicken world has been receiving so many 5* reviews, and I was instantly impressed by my order of a ' Po Boy ', which is essentially a soft glazed brioche, filled with cajun blackened chicken, lettuce, avocado, tomato, and an incredible, oozing, dripping, cajun mayo.
