31st Mar - Today is not Thursday

And yesterday was not Wednesday. Tomorrow is not Friday, and the day after that is not Saturday. You see, the concept of a 'week' doesn't even exist! The world does not reset every 7 days. The Birds in the trees have no idea that you're supposed to feel depressed on Mondays, or ready to chill - Craig David-style - on Sundays. The Sheep in the field are unaware what month it is, or that December is a time to expend the majority of your earnings. The very idea of our calendar was introduced by the Gregorians, and it has, essentially boxed human beings into a restrictive mindset.

This is a point which was emphasised to me by a TikTok video this morning in which the creator explained how the universe itself welcomes the dawn of every day as a fresh opportunity. Today might be 'Day 673,081' (or whatever) in the Earth's existence in the overall galaxy (I mean, obviously it's way more than that, but humour me, I'm not gonna typing out numbers which stretch to the billions). So with that in mind, tomorrow is not 'Friday', it's Day 673,082'. And once you come to realise that, you're actually freeing yourself of this restrictive mindset which we barricade ourselves into.

For example, we look to the future and stress ourselves over things based on the 'days' on which they're going to occur. 'My big meeting is Wednesday afternoon' can translate as 'I'll struggle to sleep on Tuesday night', or 'I've got the dentists on Monday morning' might mean 'I'll be spending Sunday night coated in worry'. By refusing to accept these days as the titles that the calendar has given us, we learn to live in the moment, and to accept that every waking morning is simply a new opportunity, a time and place that our entire solar system has never seen before. I'll apologise if I sound like a hippie, but there's a real truth to this madness if you can break through that mental barrier, and actually allow yourself to access it. Yesterday, was not Wednesday. And tomorrow...

... Is not Friday.
