16th Feb - Khan v Brook: Predictions
I'll be talking about Boxing today. If you don't like it, that's your cue to leave. So basically, as you'll know, it's Khan vs Brook this weekend, and though I've always been a big support of Special K, I think this fight may have come a few years too late for him. Amir's obviously learned from his (far superior) hero, and 'done a Floyd' here, (delaying Pacquiao in his prime). Whilst Kell has laboured to a handful of uninspiring victories over semi-decent opponents in recent years, he's always fallen short when tackling the 'big guns' (Golovkin, Spence Jnr, etc).
You could argue the same of Khan (Canelo, Crawford, etc), and although the former Olympic silver medalist can easily be caught out via his glass jaw, his superior hand-speed should see him scrape through this one. The exact moment when my opinion flipped, came during 'The gloves are off' (below). Amir really seemed to be inside Brook's head, and so often with these kind of fights, we see the victor emerge before either fighter has even stepped foot in the ring. I hope I'm wrong, I'll be supporting Kell all the way, but we should be in for a great fight night on Saturday, regardless.
Let's get ready to rumble!
