23rd Jan - Lunch with Gordon Ramsay
Cast your mind back to Black Friday, and whilst hoards of internet browsers were scrambling to pick up a fresh laptop, 4K television, or pair of hair straighteners, I managed to locate a golden nugget of an offer, for a huge discount on a Sunday Roast at Heddon Street Kitchen, more commonly known as Gordon Ramsay's restaurant. Located just off Regent's Street, in the heart of London's theatre district, the sleek European brasserie boasts an open-kitchen and (okay, I'll stop pasting this bit off Google now). 😂
I've been a bit of a Ramsay-fanboy for a while now, partly on account of the frequent use of the word 'Fuck' in his vocab, but I've also dined at his 'Street Pizza' joint (last Summer) and his chicken, chorizo and sweetcorn puree base is potentially the second greatest thing to have ever entered my mouth. I'm particularly intrigued to sample the Heddon Street parsnips today because my good lord, (Harder, Harder, Cuthbert, Harder!), I've heard they're divine. (God, I sound like such a Tory, eurghkkk). Today's dessert is served in the form of a Wicked bright green treat. My love of the West-End continues, via the Apollo in Victoria.
This was yet another one of those pre-pandemic bookings which got pushed back, and cancelled, and thrown all around the gaff for a bit with postponements etc but the day has finally come, and I'm not even sure what to expect. Other than knowing that the plot centres around a Witch (the production's branding makes that pretty clear), I've got no idea on the overall storyline here, which brings a certain amount of anticipation. I'll keep this one short as I'm currently en route, but I'll leave you my favourite ever video involving the Gord-meister, superbly edited by a very clever YouTube user...
... Bang! Up the butt! 😂
