18th October - Here's how to beat the 'energy crisis'

The first thing to interject here, is to do your own research on this 'crisis', because whilst I understand that severing ties with Russia has impacted us negatively here, it is perhaps also worth remembering that we, as the United Kingdom, only take a small percentage of our energy from Russia, anyway. The media rhetoric that Russia has 'turned off the tap' for us is codswallop, and is designed to cover up the Tories agenda to help boost the economy after a truly woeful period, even by their standards. Let me explain...

For so long, the Conservatives have used the 'economy' as a stick to beat Labour with. The idea that Gordon Brown was somehow responsible for the recession in 2009 which was a GLOBAL recession started by the fall of banks in the United States due to irresponsible lending, was quite frankly farcical. But they've peddled the same ideology for so long... 'Labour put you into recession, vote for us, we'll change that, we'll look after the country's money', well let me show you the TRUTH. Encapsulated by this infographic below. Dear, oh dear, boys. Looks like the only thing the Blue Army can look after is their own personal trust fund, and expenditure of rent boys.

As far as countries within the EU (which, sadly, we are now excluded from), go, as you can see from the stats below, the UK is certainly not one of the main purchasing powers of Russian energy, but we can see from the huge rise, that the UK certainly IS one of the greediest nations in terms of upping prices which could send their own public into all kinds of poverty. Let's be clear about this... The Conservative government fucked up more monumentally than ever during COVID, dishing out furlough payments like penny sweets, and are now chasing their own tail to try and limit the damage done during a whole decade of financial incompetence and mismanagement. The easiest way to do this? Fuck over the everyday folk like you and I, and then blame the Russians for it.

Please don't fall for these lies any further. So many already fell for the Brexit vote and now we're considerably worse off, but it is too late to turn the tide of our own damage. Within the next 18 months, a General Election MUST be called by the likes of Liz Truss (who, quite frankly, won't last that long, let's be honest), and Jeremy Hunt, who - just this week - announced reversals to Truss' plans of energy bills support schemes, in his first meaningful act as chancellor. That means we have 18 months to avoid situations like this again in our future(s). My partner and I have chosen to not turn the heating on throughout this Winter, and instead purchased a huge luxury duvet from M&S for £69, safe in the knowledge this will prove a greater long-term investment. Even as I type this, I'm under two blankets on the sofa. But going forward, the best way to beat the 'energy crisis' is not to buy duvets, or cower under blankets, the best way to beat it...

... Is to vote LABOUR
